Steve supervises all training at Pet Resorts Australia and has over 30 years experience training dogs at all levels. Key highlights of Steve's career: Steve has owned and trained Australian Obedience and Field Trial Champions and has been chosen to judge events himself He also pioneered the many training techniques during his time as trainer for the Australian Quarantine Inspection Services and Australian federal government he is an accredited assessor for the Californian Narcotic Drug Association and has worked with the NSW Police Dog Unit. Steve is a certified temperament assessor for the NSW local government and current President of the Pet Industry Association of Australia With formal qualifications in Dog Training and Behaviour his vast experience and knowledge have led to many television appearances and guest lecturer appointments Steve has been a major figure in the professional pet industry for some decades, from lecturing to American Law Enforcement Agencies, training Australia’s first truffle detector dog in Tasmania, presenting talks locally on animal training at Sydney’s Taronga Zoo, to far away places like the Mount Everest Kennel Club in Katmandu. JODIE SULTANA Hi I'm Jodie - my job here at Pet Resorts Australia is to train all the dogs in our in-house training program daily and to take owners through the handover training session on their pet’s departure. One of my other roles is assisting Steve Austin with the training of dogs for several projects including the Macquarie Island Project, television work and scent detection. I also puppy raise dogs for these projects on a regular basis. Ever since the day I was born, my life has been all about animals. Growing up I have been fortunate enough to be part of a very loving family who have always supported my passion for all animals, big and small. Over the years our family pets have ranged from horses, dogs, cats and birds, to guinea pigs, rabbits, fish and reptiles; all of which I have been utterly devoted to. I attended pony club during my younger years and am also a member of the Hills District Kennel & Training club. I have been working with dogs for approximately six years, and have acquired many accreditations, as you will see below. • Certificate III in Companion Animal Services. For this I received a letter of recognition for high achievement. • Category Award Winner and Trainee of the Year Runner Up for Certificate III in Companion Animal Services. • NDTF Certificate III in Dog Behaviour and Training. Training dogs for basic assistance roles and basic substance detection. • Certificate of Completion for Canine First Aid course. • Certificate of attendance of Ausboard 2007 National Boarding Conference. • Certificate of Northwest Community College Inc. ZOE DALY Hi I'm Zoe - my job here at Pet Resorts Australia is to assist Steve Austin with the training of dogs for various scent detection projects including Explosives for the Australian Army, Narcotics for NSW Corrective Services, Cheetah Scat for the Cheetah Conservation Fund in Africa, Mahogany Timber for the WWF in Germany, and many others. I also train the dogs in our in-house training program and take owners through the handover training session on their pet’s departure, as well as conduct group classes, private lessons and home consultations. I have always loved animals. Growing up I had two horses, and a cat. Now I have two dogs, both of which I rescued from the pound. I have a Labrador x German Shorthaired Pointer named Matilda, and a German Shepherd x Mastiff named Jay Jay. Jay Jay and I are part of the Urban Search and Rescue Team with the SES and NSW Fire Brigades, it is very rewarding for both of us, and we hope to save many lives. I compete in trials for Obedience, Agility and Canine Freestyle with Matilda, and I am also teaching her Flyball. Matilda has gained a title in Canine Freestyle, and we both love doing trick demonstrations as well. I have acquired the following accreditations: • NDTF Certificate III in Dog Behaviour and Training. I am very passionate about my work, I want every dog and their owners to have a happy, well balanced life together, and I'm committed to making that happen. Glenn is continually training young, passionate dog loving people to help continue this valuable and rewarding work.
